Description
The lyrics of ‘Vapautensa antanut’ (Freedom Surrendered) is a Sirkka Turkka poem from the anthology Kaunis hallitsija (1981).
The narrator in the poem talks to a horse, urging it to search freedom just to find it is a contradiction! Embodying liberty, strength and nobility, loved and tenderly cared for, yet it is brutally branded, showing it forever belongs to another.
