Description

Trio Vaie takes form of a framework: the middle part dominated by the hiccupping skip motive is framed by sensitive and slow sections. Of all imaginable titles, the Finnish selfmade word vaie best seemed to describe the atmosphere of the work: it is a light, yet serious word, which I hope to raise images of concealing, silence and sinking.

Trio Vaie hahmottuu kehysmuotoiseksi: reippaan nikottelevan hyppymotiivin hallitsemaa keskiosaa reunustavat herkät ja hitaat jaksot. Kaikenlaista ajateltavissa olleista nimistä tuntui Vaie parhaiten kuvaavan kappaleen tunnelmaa: se on keveä vakava sana, jonka herättämät mielikuvat liittyvät toivoakseni vaipumiseen, vaikenemiseen ja totisuuteen.
