The work represents neoromantic style in an almost shameless manner.
The duration is a little bit over 21 minutes. The sonata includes older material from my theatre and opera music but doesn’t depict a particular castle. May these movements, The Troubadour, The Dungeon, The Lover’s Sorrow and The Jester and The King create freely pictures for a story in the listeners’ minds.
Teos edustaa neoromanttista tyylilajia, jopa häpeämättömästi.
Sen hieman yli 21 minuutin kestoon mahtuu muistumia teatteri- ja oopperamusiikistani, mutta mitään tiettyä linnaa se ei kuvaa. Osat The Troubadour (Trubaduuri), The Dungeon (Vankityrmä), The Lover’s Sorrow (Rakastavan Suru) ja The Jester and The King (Hovinarri ja Kuningas) luokoot vapaasti kuulijalle mielikuvat omaksi tarinakseen.
