Tarmo
21 Marches from the 21st Century, march for wind orchestra
Description
I think that marches always have something to do with will and energy. It is hard to imagine loosely-structured or unfocused march. Energy and promptness are also the ingredients of Tarmo, although I want to hear some explicitly singing melody there, too.
Tarmo is the Finnish word for vigour. It is also a man's name - and the name of a famous ice-breaker. I wrote the march mostly in November - at the time when Tarmo and other ice-breakers would soon be in strong demand in Helsinki bay in the Gulf of Finland.
