Sonata in C minor
by Uuno Klami
Uuno Klami
Sonata in C minor
Description
Uuno Klami probably began composing the C minor Sonata as early as May
1920. He completed two movements but only sketched the finale. The
reason why he never finished it may be that he began composing a Viola
Sonata at around the same time. In 2016 composer Eero Kesti edited
Klami’s Viola Sonata when ne noticed that the main sections of the two
sonatas' finales are very similar even though they were in different
keys. This last movement is reconstructed by Eero Kesti using Klami's
viola sonata.
