Miranda's Lament

by Kaija Saariaho

Myrsky

Description

Miranda's Lament is Kaija Saariaho's tribute to her composition teacher at the Sibelius Academy, Paavo Heininen, on the latter's 60th birthday, which was also the occasion of the premiere. Miranda's Lament is related to the earlier work Caliban's Dream, and the text for both comes from Shakespeare's play The Tempest.
