Into the Woodland Silence

Metsän hiljaisuuteen
Description
Metsän hiljaisuuteen (in Engl. Into the Woodland Silence) is about human growth and the vast, unanswered question of how to become oneself, an exploration that continues throughout our lives. The lyrics were compiled from poems by renowned Finnish poets Eeva-Liisa Manner and Sirkka Turkka. Into the Woodland Silence was originally scored for jazz orchestra and folk/jazz mezzo-soprano, but this quartet version gives the work new life as chamber music, and perhaps even better portrays the intimate nature of the music.
