Elegia
Description
The main feature in Elegy is translucent, calm and sensitive longing. The lonely piano chords are like twinkling stars in a winter night. In their melodical line they seem to be asking questions, which are answered by cello, from a great depth and height, firmly and silently.
The middle phrase of the composition — the structure is formed by A—B—A — has a gentle breeze of taming aggressions, a blow of virtuosity. The composition is ended as beautifully as it started, with a dialogue between the upper melodic part and the lower tones of the cello, with quietness.
