Description
En juin 1979, Kaija Saariaho assiste au cours de composition de Hämeenlinna, organisé par le compositeur Jarmo Sermilä, et compose, au cours des deux semaines que dure ce stage, cette pièce sous la direction du compositeur suédois Arne Mellnäs. Ce stage permet à Kaija Saariaho de faire la connaissance de deux autres jeunes compositeurs finlandais, Esa-Pekka Salonen et Magnus Lindberg, avec lesquels elle collaborera ensuite régulièrement.
