Zhe for mixed choir

Description

Ideally the listener has no prior knowledge of the text of this choir piece, other than the text is written by a successful young Finnish poet Henriikka Tavi. The work was written in close collaboration with her about the rather rough Sörnäinen area (near the centre of Helsinki) of our time. Unfortunately most of the piece is lost in translation, hence only to be sung and fully understood in Finnish…

Toivoisin, ettei kuulija lukisi kuoroteokseni Ж (2008) laulutekstiä ennen kuuntelua. Tavoittelemani elämyksen kannalta olisi nimittäin erittäin tärkeää, että runoilija Henriikka Tavin varta vasten tätä musiikkikappaletta varten tekemä teksti olisi kuulijalle ennalta täysin tuntematon.

Muuta esittelyä ei tarvitse tämä runoilijan ja säveltäjän harvinaislaatuisessa yhteistyössä tekemä teos, joka on korvin työstetty korvin kuultavaksi. Sävel kuvaa ja sana soi, aikamme Sörnäistä.
