<p>Roope Mäenpää's output as composer includes mainly orchestral and chamber music, among them string quartets and musical fairytales for narrator and orchestra. He has also collaborated with Sámi yoiker Niillas Holmberg and composed music for yoik and chamber orchestra, as well as worked as a composer in theatre productions and video pieces.</p> <p>Mäenpää is also active as conductor and composition teacher. He has an especially close connection to string instruments, having a background as a cellist.</p>
