<p>Tapio Lappalainen has worked with music technology throughout his career, composing for live-electronics but also inventing and innovating hybrid instruments like using hydrophones inside ice blocks. He is also an experienced teacher in both music theory, composition and music technology.</p> <p>An important side of his work as a composer is co-composing with his wife Sanna Ahvenjärvi, a quite rare thing in classical art music. Their Water for symphony orchestra won the Teosto prize in 2023. </p>
