Tapio Lappalainen
Tapio Lappalainen has worked with music technology throughout his career, composing for live-electronics but also inventing and innovating hybrid instruments like using hydrophones inside ice blocks. He is also an experienced teacher in both music theory, composition and music technology.
An important side of his work as a composer is co-composing with his wife Sanna Ahvenjärvi, a quite rare thing in classical art music. Their Water for symphony orchestra won the Teosto prize in 2023.
