Olli Kortekangas

Olli Kortekangas has long been attracted to the human voice, and the core of his output consists of vocal music in various shapes and forms. His operas have been performed at prestigious venues in Finland an abroad and he got the Finnish Teosto Prize for the opera Isän tyttö in 2007.

But he has composed music for many kinds of ensembles, many of them created in close collaboration with the performers. His work is also characterised by a philosophical approach and a close relationship to text.
