Description

In my Five Bagatelles, I have tried to lend an ear to the echoes and "shadows" forming around the notes and create timbral distortions by colouring loudly played notes with extremely quiet "ghost tones". The harmonic and melodic material has arisen from the interpretation of these combinations in the chordal domain.

The work comprises five miniatures played without a break. The first movement acts as a wellspring of materials, to which the other four movements look for their source.

Viidessä bagatellissa olen koettanut kuulostella sävelten kaikuja ja varjoja ja luoda särösointeja siten, että voimakkaasti soitettuja säveliä väritetään toisilla, aavistuksenomaisen hiljaisilla sävelillä. Harmonia- ja melodia-aines on syntynyt näiden yhdistelmien tulkitsemisesta soinnuiksi.

Sävellys koostuu viidestä tauotta soitettavasta miniatyyristä. Ensimmäinen on materiaalivarasto, josta loput neljä ammentavat.
