Description
Uudemmasta maailmasta on Suomen Huiluseuran pedagogiikkapäiville 2007 sävelletty huiluyhtyeteos.
Avainsanat: jet whistle, kielipizzicato, tongue ram, improvisaatio
Taitotaso: Hieman edistyneemmät – Syventyneet (stemmasta riippuen)

From a Newer World is composed for the Pedagogue Days of the Finnish Flute Association in 2007. It is a jazzy piece with rock influences, including improvisatory elements, incorporates techniques such as tongue pizzicato, tongue rams, jet whistles and harmonics.
Although the piece is written for introducing some contemporary flute techniques for young players, pulse and rhythm remain the most important elements. The pulse should stay persistent all the way to the end and the rhythms be exact and even awkward partly, especially those with dotted notes and syncopations.
The piece has eight flute parts, of which each one can be played by any number of flautists, without loosing the balance between the parts however. A good balance is easily reached by increasing the number of parts’ players gradually from the first to the eighth: it is recommended that parts 5–8 have more players than the first four. It is enough to have only one player in the 1st and 2nd part.
