Description

The Finnish publisher Fuga was looking for short piano pieces, intended for an album for young people. Not many young people have played Tre små pianostycken (Three short pieces for piano), another strictly serial work, not because of technical problems - the last piece contains only one melody line - but because the score is musically difficult to understand.

L’éditeur finlandais Fuga désirait des petites pièces pour piano, destinées à un album pour la jeunesse. Oeuvre toujours strictement sérielle, Tre små pianostycken (Trois petites pièces pour piano) n'a guère été jouée par les jeunes, non à cause de problèmes techniques - la dernière pièce ne comporte qu'une seule ligne mélodique - mais plutôt à cause de la difficulté de comprendre cette partition musicalement.
