Three Fantastic Dances

Description

The Tampere Chamber needed a work scored for string quartet, wind quintet and piano, i.e. for an ensemble of ten. The performance was nevertheless cancelled and the Three fantastic dances were not premiered until later that year, by the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, in its chamber music series. I wrote the work just for fun and, I hope, to be of some use to the members of Tampere Chamber.

Tarvittiin teos, joka oli kirjoitettu jousikvartetille, puhallinkvintetille sekä pianolle eli 10-henkiselle yhtyeelle. Aiottu esitys kuitenkin peruuntui, ja Kolme fantastista tanssia sai kantaesityksensä myöhemmin samana vuonna, jolloin sen esitti Tampereen kaupunginorkesteri kamarimusiikkisarjassaan. Kirjoitin teoksen huviksi ja toivottavasti myös hyödyksi Tampere Chamberin jäsenille.
