The Tale of The Frozen City
for jazz orchestra
Description
The Tale of The Frozen City's use of classical woodwinds, flugelhorns, and muted brass instruments gives it an impressionistic feel. As a final touch depicting an ice-filled city, there are improvised piano and flute solos.
The work was originally composed for a great Swedish band, Norrbotten Big Band, and you can listen to the recording of their version here: https://soundcloud.com/teemuhalmkrona/the-tale-of-...
The solos are played by Mats Garberg on flute and Adam Forkelid on piano.
