Tendenza

Description
Tendenza was written in Paris during the autumn of 1982, at the request of Vinko Globokar (one of Lindberg’s teachers) for his ensemble Musique vivante. It is scored for 21 players and lasts around 12 minutes. The work, which unjustly, has been played very rarely, is one of the first Lindberg’s essays towards a brutal and primitive expression – a block, in which the listener follows the shifting changes in the mass of sound rather than the drama created from the overall form. The first performance was given by Musique vivante, directed by Globokar, on 27 January 1983 in Paris.

[...] Lindbergin varhaiseen tuotantoon kuuluva Tendenza (1982) on hänen oman lausumansa valossa selvästi kivenhakkaajan, vieläpä nuoren vihaisen kivenhakkaajan musiikkia.
