I composed Sonatina for piano in 2020. Behind it, there is the corona¬virus pandemic of 2020, which canceled almost all of my concerts. I therefore had more time to compose. I also took composition lessons under Professor Matthias Drude in Dresden. My Sonatina has been described as impressionistic, but it also has certain influences from the rock music of our time. It is meant to be virtuoso, captivating and fun. The Sonatina was premiered in Berlin by the German pianist Severin von Eckardstein, to whom the piece is also dedicated. I myself performed the piece for the first time in August 2021 at the Nordischer Klang Festival in Greifswald, from where it was also broadcast on Northern German radio NDR.
