Description

O notte, o dolce tempo was commissioned by Marika Kivinen for a lied-concert with Italy as its main theme. Naturally, I began searching for an Italian text by an Italian author. I finally chose this sonnet by Michelangelo, who besides being a great sculptor and painter also was a very fine poet.
