Description

Noctilucens means ”shining at night” in Latin. While composing this piece I had a vision of electric sparks, bright neon colors on a pitch black background, suprising but satisfyingly precise games of light and shadow.

I am grateful to Stefan Gerritsen for commissioning Noctilucens, and for the Madetoja foundation of Finland for supporting the composition process.
