Melankolia

for solo piano

Description

Melankolia is a short piano piece with a melancholic feeling loosely based on the second movement of a guitar sextet "Sei" I composed back in 2012. I decided to use the material from the original piece in a solo piano setting when I was asked to compose new piano pieces for Kristina Annamukhamedova's project, where she wanted to record a large amount of new/unknown student pieces. The piece is also dedicated to her.
