Layers

Description

Layers was concieved at the same time as Play I, but has an even more open design which contains less permanent information for the musicians. Layers leaves the choice of instruments up to the performers. At its only performance, at the Helsinki Biennale, the piece was played by four keyboards (synthesizers and pianos) placed in the four corners of the concert hall while the main stage was being rearranged, in a concert where the various pieces followed from each other without interruptions.
