for baritone saxophone

Description

La forêt et le songe is a short fantasy for baritone saxophone solo. Originally written for cello, the saxophone version (2017) is slightly extended and utilizes several special saxophone techniques that I got acquainted with during the compositional process of the baritone sax concerto Multikolor (2014) – such as multiphones and simultaneous playing and singing.

The original cello version from 2004 (Metsä ja uni) was my first piece in which the tone color and timbre were in the compositional focus. Since that my musical languange has evolved further to that direction and the textural changes made in La forêt et le songe compared to the original cello version appropriately reflect that process.
