Description

Kuulas (Serene) is a ten-minute long solo piece for cello. Written for composers’ own instrument in 2012, Kuulas provides the performer with instrumentally rewarding and idiomatic cello texture. Rich use of natural harmonics and various distortion-producing bow techniques are characteristic of Virtaperko’s fourth solo cello composition.
