Description

Kierros was commissioned for a certain important family member’s 90th birthday. The title is Finnish for “round,” “cycle,” and any number of other related nouns. At some point during the compositional process, I recalled a rumor that I had heard about the great Finnish modernist Erik Bergman, who apparently referred to his esteemed colleague Einar Englund as “that damn sequence composer...”
