Juhlakantaatti
by Toivo Kuula
Isonkyrön kantaatti
Description
The cantata was commissioned by the vicar Gustav Durchman to celebrate the Sexticentennial (600th anniversary) of the Old Church in Isokyrö, which turned out to be premature as recent research has revealed that the church is in fact much younger (built around 1520 or 1530). As there has never been an organ in the Old Church, the organ part in the premiere was played by a harmonium.
