Imaginary Spaces

Music Finland

Description

Imaginary Spaces is a concert–installation offering a multisensorial and immersive sound experience. People are invited to interact, moving freely in the hall. Videocameras among the audience are triggered by sound sources, live cello and voices. Audience are invited to interact with sound objects, and through them experience sound in space. The interactive audiovisual part enhances the multisensorial experience, inviting the participants to be part of the creative process, and to become more consciuos of it. Bodily and verbal languages play a central role in this event.

This interactive concert combining music, visual and space experience, is part of Livorsi´s doctoral research "Human voice and instrumental voice: a comparative study in timbral content". The research investigates the relations between language and music, two human expressions which probably emerged at the same time in the history of human kind.

Special thanks for the collaborative research and creative process to Juho Laitinen, Roberto Pugliese and Marek Pluciennik.
