Description
Hommage à un caprice euclidien for nine instruments represents a second sonorous picture of the euclidian geometrical idea on parallelism. If in Sentimentalul Euclid the melodic lines suggest dynamically the axiom, this time, the parallels do not challenge and do not develop; they only generate a quiescent and calm atmosphere.
The instrumental ensemble, organized on tone colour criteria in 3 groups – woodwinds, strings and percussions, follows the vertical dimension of the parallel constructions. The conflict needed by the musical discourse is built by the different parameters' dialogues on the background of melodic and harmonic deviations from the perfect fifths' sonority.
