Goldcrest

Description

The Goldcrest (Regulus regulus) is the smallest European bird, 8.5–9.5 cm in length. The species is not unusual or shy but it might be difficult to observe one because it moves restlessly up and down trunks usually quite high in coniferous woodland. This little Goldcrest girl is learning to fly.
