Description

Folkvisa från Houtskär (Swedish for Folksong from Houtskari, an island in the south-west coast of Finland) is beautifully arranged for string orchestra and evokes fateful athmosphere with the dorian mode. Dahlström won a competition contest organized by Finnish-Swedish cultural society Brage in 1936. The Turku Philharmonic Orchestra performed Folkvisa many time in 1930-1950's.
