Description
The work Dreamgate, composed for two toy pianos and tape, deals with the transition from the waking state to the world of dreams. The music tells the story of a child who is falling asleep while listening to the melodies of a music box and a lullaby. The repetitive sounds of the music box and the calming singing work together as a gateway to the dream world. After the child has fallen asleep the sounds of the music box continue in a dream, but now in an altered form. The lullaby also returns as a recollection.
