Henry Parland skrev dessa dikter under 1920-talet, d.v.s. ungefär 100 år innan Pauliina Isomäki tonsatte dem. I texterna tar Parland upp aspekter av det nya, moderna livet: reklam, bensin, disinformation. Låter det bekant för oss nu? Visst! Vi bombarderas av reklam. Än i dag dör människor p.g.a. olja. Moral och sanning? Finns de? De fyra korta sångerna för sopran, mezzosopran, flöjt och cello kristalliserar realiteterna i det moderna livet.

Henry Parland wrote these poems during the 1920s, i.e. about 100 years
before Pauliina Isomäki composed them. In the texts, Parland addresses
aspects of modern life: advertising, petrol, disinformation. Does that
sound familiar to us now? Sure! We're being bombarded by commercials. To
this day, people die because of oil. Morality and truth? Do they exist?
The four short songs for soprano, mezzosoprano, flute, and cello
crystallize the realities of modern life.
