Description
AS THEY MET ME for bass clarinet and orchestra (2014) is the acoustic reflection of my meetings with works created by different personalities of the world. Apparently isolated, as they got an image in my mind, the eight events started a dialogue and brought to life the attraction to each other: the works of film director Jean Becker, then the art collectionary Sara Hildén's life, the Gabriel Garcia Márquez's novels, the Otto Wagner's marks in Viennese architecture, the cinematographic eye of Jean-Luc Godard, the bright colours of Kees van Dongen, the monk's Aimilianos Simonopetritis thinking and my friend and poet Ion Stratan's joy of words.
The music is my answer to their impact on me, a reaction transformed in conversation on art and philosophy.
