The Arrival in Hades

Description

Ankomst till Hades (The Arrival in Hades) is a setting of a poem of the same name by Edith Södergran, a Finnish poet writing in Swedish who died at an early age. The poem describes the individual's feelings at the moment of departure: rejection followed by the facing of the idea of death and finally its inevitable acceptance. The composition seeks to express this moving, human theme.
