Description

AILES, a song cycle of five miniatures, text commissioned from Elke de Rijcke reflects on the problematic relationship between a mother and a daughter. Daughter growing up and growing wings, but not being able to use them, turns to her mother for guidance and help. Instead of supporting her, the mother does the opposite to prevent the daughter from growing into her true potential. Abandoned by her mother, the daughter is left alone to find her way. The unconscious starts to work and slowly she finds air beneath her wings. The five miniatures are a dialogue between the mother and the daughter.
