Description

The whole song cycle is based on a little three-note gesture that acts in different ways in different songs. In the first piece it serves as a motif, in the second it builds up melodies, in the third it works as a sequence, and finally, in the fourth, makes a 12-note row.

Koko laulusarja perustuu pienelle kolmen sävelen eleelle, joka käyttäytyy eri osissa eri tavoin – ensimmäisessä laulussa motiivina, toisessa muodostaen melodioita, kolmannessa sekvenssin tavoin, kunnes neljännessä siitä on muodostettu 12-sävelrivi.
