<p>Hannu Pohjannoro's music has been described as concentrated and full of details, emotionally strong and often poetic in quality. His output includes both large-scale orchestra works and folk opera, as well as polished miniatures.</p> <p>A special interest is subtle pianissimo qualities and small gestures, ”being strange, not extreme: the encounter of the recognisable and unrecognisable, ambiguity”, he has said. He is also active as a composition teacher.</p>
