<p>Jaakko Kuusisto divided his time between being a violinist, a conductor, a composer and an arranger. As a composer his output is broad and open-minded, reaching from music for his own instrument to solo concertos and film scores. He also wrote a considerable body of vocal music, including several operas such as Jää (Ice, 2017–18) for the Finnish National Opera.</p> <p>Kuusisto was at home with a variety of musical genres, grasping Abba, jazz and tango as effortlessly as classical music.</p>
