<p>Ilkka Kuusisto played a large number of roles on the Finnish musical scene, as a church organist, jazz pianist, radio producer, conductor and opera manager in addition to his work as a composer.</p> <p>He was one of Finland’s most prolific opera composers, with an output ranging from broad humour to serious drama and from children’s musical to grand opera, usually in a clearly tonal style. His long career as choral conductor is apparent in the large number of choral pieces in his output.</p>
