Pasi Lyytikäinen’s works demonstrate a diverse interest in the various dimensions of music, such as the relationship between improvised and written music, the merging of theatre into musical expression, and controlled noise. In the Oopperaa arjessa (Everyday opera) project, a mini-opera (or opera performance) tailored to a specific location was embedded in everyday life on a street, in a square or in a shopping centre. Operas constitute a major part of his output, but chamber music, vocal works and orchestral works are also important.
