<p>Ilari Kaila is a Finnish-American composer with an international profile, finding his artistic freedom first in New York and later in Hong Kong. His work has been presented on several continents and by acclaimed musicians and ensembles.</p> <p>Kaila's output includes both chamber music and orchestra works and his music has been described as hypnotic and haunting as well as of “nearly unbearable beauty” and “essentially lyrical”. Bach, early music and carnatic music are among his main influences.</p>
