Manfred Gräsbeck studied composition with his father Gottfrid Gräsbeck in the 1960s, and later in professor Einojuhani Rautavaara's composition class at the Sibelius Academy in 1981-1985. Manfred Gräsbeck has also been influenced by certain contemporary composers whose violin concertos he has premiered.
