<p>Sampo Haapamäki is a tireless explorer: ”What’s most important to me in music is, simply, how it sounds”. He has received international acclaim, and got the Finnish Teosto prize for his bass clarinet concerto Kirjo in 2006.</p> <p>One of his long-term projects is developing quarter-tone instruments and his Quarter-tone piano concerto won the Nordic Council Music Prize 2020, applauded as “a unique combination of natural musicality, impressive craftsmanship, and the never-ending exploration of the tradition”. </p>
