Short description
Tomi Räisänen has studied very different styles in his music, flirting with dodecaphony as well as free jazz. “In his works, Tomi Räisänen reveals himself as an advocate of structuralism with a tendency towards rational thinking, though he cannot justifiably be regarded as a constructivist proper; his imagination is too strong-willed for that,” writes Jouni Kaipainen. Räisänen's output extends from orchestral works to electro-acoustic works. He is not averse to rare instruments or instrument combinations: his catalogue includes music for recorder, sax, accordion, marimba and Chinese sheng mouth organ.
