Timo Alakotila
Timo Alakotila is one of Finland’s busiest and most versatile musicians, being involved in folk music, jazz, classical and pop music. His background is in pop and jazz, which he has liberally applied to the world of folk music, broadening its range of harmonic thinking. He is much in demand as an arranger, and his compositions include music for folk combos, big bands, string orchestras, the Baroque violin and a wide range of ensembles. Many of his works are based on folk tunes treated in his own inimitable fashion.
