Teemu Takanen

Teemu Takanen (b. 1984) is a Finnish composer, conductor, and saxophonist celebrated for his fearless approach to blending jazz, rock, classical, and orchestral music. With a distinctive ability to merge diverse styles, his works range from dynamic big band arrangements to deeply moving orchestral scores. In 2020, he was honored with the Arrangement Award from the Finnish Music Creators. In recent years, Takanen has appeared as a conductor with ensembles such as the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra, the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, the Oulu Symphony, and the Kuopio Symphony Orchestra.
