Mioko Yokoyama is interested in deriving new timbres from instruments to surprise the listeners and provide enjoyable experiences through music. Her music has been performed and commissioned in various countries.
Yokoyama regards interacting with musicians and researching instruments as important. Through her pieces, she tries to provide an exciting time flow or a special moment to audiences. ”My inspiration usually originates in the sound itself”, she says.
